Week 4 (Special: Time Management!)

Welcome back to another UGC blog post! This week's blog is about time management- a very very important skill to master! As a UGC creator (or any other type of freelancer) it's hard to keep track of time since we don't have a set schedule. This can easily lead to a unhealthy work-to-life balance. So today, I will be talking about my experience with time management and tips on how to achieve a healthy work schedule!   I'm going to keep it real with you guys- I not the best at time management! In fact, I kind of suck at it. Whenever there is something I passionate about, I get absolutely OBSESSED. For example, every time I discover a new TV show, I will watch it for 8 hours straight if I could! The same thing happend when I first started doing UGC three weeks ago. I sat in front of my computer all day long, checking my emails every few seconds.  It's like I got sucked into an alternate dimension where the only thing I could think of is UGC. Now that I look back on it,...

Week 3 (Speacial: What is UGC?)

Welcome! If you don't know already, my name is Julia and I'm a teenage UGC Creator. Before we get started I must tell you, this week's blog is a very special one! And as much as I would love to tell you guys everything about my week, I recently realized that I haven't yet explained what exactly UGC is. So today, I will be taking you guys on a tour of what UGC is and what a UGC Creator does.    Have you ever seen a TikTok of a HUGE influencer promoting a brand? Probably.  And did that video  motivate you to buy the product? Probably not. And it's not because the influencer is doing anything wrong, it's because everyone knows that the influencer is being paid big bucks to promote that brand. That's where UGC comes in. Think of UGC as online word to mouth or influencing without the influencer. 'User Generated Content' is authentic, original and relatable content made by regular people to influence other regular people. Most of the time, these content co...

Week 2

Where do I even start! This week was full of surprises! I got my first gifted collaboration (and paid deal), went on my first ever business meeting and had 3 agencies reach out to me! So without further adieu, let's get straight into everything that happened during the second week of my UGC journey.!   This week, I started doing cold outreaches to many brands via email. Most of which were skincare/makeup brands. As I predicted, not many brands responded.  At first I thought "why aren't any of these brands responding to me?".  But again why should they? Say if I was a brand and I receive hundreds of not thousand of emails everyday asking to colab with me, I most definitely won't respond to all of them. So after around three days I started following up to the brands I already messaged. Then finally! After many many no's I finally got a yes! This brand is a Australian skincare brand (we're going to call this brand "brand x"). They agreed to send ...

Week 1

I cannot believe that it has only been a week since I started doing UGC. It feels like I've been doing it for forever! I started setting up all my social media and email accounts just one day after I found out what UGC is. I was (still am) so anxious to start my UGC journey.    For the first 2 or 3 days I mainly focused on creating content for my portfolio and social media (which I found out was a lot harder than expected. I guess there really is no such thing as easy money). Then on day 4, I spent half of my day creating my portfolio. My parents kept telling my to "slow down" and that I'm totally obsessed. They call it an obsession, I call it a passion ;)   I also started posting on my Tiktok (@juliamediamarketing), Instagram (@juliamediamarketing) and my Twitter (@juliammarketing). Each of them have around 60-100 followers which is honestly very good for my first week. At first I was a little disappointed with my following count because I kept on seeing all...
