Week 2

Where do I even start! This week was full of surprises! I got my first gifted collaboration (and paid deal), went on my first ever business meeting and had 3 agencies reach out to me! So without further adieu, let's get straight into everything that happened during the second week of my UGC journey.!

This week, I started doing cold outreaches to many brands via email. Most of which were skincare/makeup brands. As I predicted, not many brands responded.  At first I thought "why aren't any of these brands responding to me?".  But again why should they? Say if I was a brand and I receive hundreds of not thousand of emails everyday asking to colab with me, I most definitely won't respond to all of them. So after around three days I started following up to the brands I already messaged. Then finally! After many many no's I finally got a yes! This brand is a Australian skincare brand (we're going to call this brand "brand x"). They agreed to send me a full range of their products in exchange for some videos.  I am beyond excited to receive their package!

After I scored this colab with Brand X, things started to look up! The next morning, I opened my inbox to a digital marketing agency (we're going to call this agency "agency t") inviting me to become one of their UGC Creators! You could imagine how thrilled I was. After a quick background search, I immediately accepted. The owner of Agency T lives on the other side of the world so we had pick the perfect time for our call. I asked if we could call the following day at 9am (EST), and since we are in different time zones, I woke up at 3am just to see their response!

But of course, the call went great! We discussed everything I needed to know about their agency. They will be launching in September and I cannot wait to start working with them!

Following this agency, two more agencies reached out to me in just two days! As you might have guessed, I accepted both without hesitation. Basically these agencies find work for their creators (like me), just like an agent. This is perfect for me since I want to put more time into creating content than reaching out to brands.

Oh I almost forgot to mention, I received my first paid deal this week too! An agency reached out to me via twitter and offered my $60 for 3 short videos to promote their app. I completed their videos that night and sent it to them the following morning!

Surprisingly, following these events, I didn't receive any activity for the rest of the week. I went back to reaching out to brands and so far, nothing. I got a little bit annoyed the day before yesterday and started reaching out to brands like crazy! This impatient attitude caused my to make many typos in my emails :( I just now realize how important patience is!

It has been about four days now and I still haven't had any activity. But I will never stop trying! I am going to keep trying different strategies and reaching out to different brands until meet the perfect opportunity! And most importantly, I'm going to enjoy the process!

My goals for next week are:

- Test out freelancing websites

- Get 2 brand deals!

- Keep working on time management :)

- Enjoy the process!

So yeah! This is how my week as a UGC Creator went. Keep smiling and I'll see you next week!
